SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE WITH TOBE

Fuction:

·         We use Simple present with to be to express about present condition.

Example: I am at home.

                                   This building is very big.

·         To Express about General Truth

                Example: The ice is cold.

                                   The earth is round.

The pattern:

(+) S + is/am /are + Complement (Noun, Adjective, adv.of.place)

(-) S + is/am/are + not + Complement (Noun, Adjective, adv.of.place)

(?) Is/am/are + S + Complement (Noun, Adjective, adv.of.place)?

Note:

Example:

                (+) She is a beautiful girl.

                (-) She is not a beautiful girl.

                (?) Is she a beautiful girl? Yes, she is / No, she isn’t.
